Lonnie Fay Setzer, 80, of Conover passed away on Friday, May 13, 2022 at his residence.
He was born March 11, 1942 in Catawba County to the late Coyte Ernest Setzer and Isobel Yount Setzer. Lonnie, his father, and Ronnie owned and operated Catawba Valley Motor Line. He also worked for Hickory Springs Manufacturing for more than 22 years. Lonnie enjoyed senior bowling and driving his antique cars. He loved entering his cars in antique shows and sharing the cars’ histories with everyone. For many years, he was very dedicated to donating blood and later platelets, donating many gallons in his lifetime. Lonnie was a faithful member of Faith Lutheran Church in Conover. Most of all, he was very devoted to his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Patsy Ann Setzer; and twin brother, Ronnie Setzer.

Daughter: Zina Setzer Burney and husband Jay
Sister: Cheryl Kiziah and husband Dave
Grandchildren: Julian Cody Setzer (Amanda), Anna Catherine Burney, Mary Margaret Burney, and Rebecca Lynn Burney
Great-Grandchildren: Finley James and Harrison Luke Setzer
Many special nieces, nephews, cousins, and a special uncle, Johnny Olup
A memorial service to celebrate Lonnie’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Conover. Rev. Mary Miller-Zurell will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service.
