It is with great sadness that the family of the late Joyce Olive Rowsell announce her passing on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at the Western Long Term Care, Corner Brook at the age of 92 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her sons: Victor (Rose), Bill (Elisabeth) and Brian; daughters: Linda Brown and Judy Parsons; grandchildren: Bill Rowsell, Ellen Rowsell, Nicole Gillingham, Don Parsons, Natasha Parsons, Susan Baker, Vicki Trahan, Gordon Rowsell and Tina Wells Rowsell; 29 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren; sisters: Dora Clarke (Don) and Margaret Brake; sisters-in-law: Isabel Simms, Rose Wheeler, Edna Ivory, Sylvia Rowsell, Marjorie Rowsell and Debbie Rowsell; brothers-in-law: Cecil Rowsell, Tom Rowsell and Lorne Wheeler; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband William (Bill) Rowsell, granddaughter Rhonda Brown Collishaw, great-grandson Devon Callishaw, son-in-law Roy Parsons, daughter-in-law Patsy Rowsell, patents Cornelius and Meta Simms, brothers George, Glen and Walter, sisters Jean Simms, Nora Howlett and Joan Flight, sisters-in-law Judy Simms, Helena Anderson, Laura Rowsell and Mary Perkins, brothers-in-law Ray Howlett, Ned Brake Sr., Ford Flight, Fred Rowsell, Allister Rowsell, Ross Rowsell and Larry Ivory Sr., nephews Trent Rowsell and Larry Ivory Jr., niece Toby Brake. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Wednesday, May 18 from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 19 at 2:00 p.m. from Fillatre’s Funeral Chapel, St. Mark’s Avenue with Majors Brian & Valerie Wheeler officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. A very special thank you to all the Doctors, nurses and staff at Western Long Term Care for all your care and compassion in taking care of our mother. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society or to a charity of one’s choice.
