Rogelio L. Booc Obituary

Rogelio L. “Roger” Booc, 81, of Tiffin, passed away at 1:55 PM, on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at Tiffin Mercy Hospital.
Roger was born in Cebu City, Philippines on September 27, 1940, to the late Candelario and Consuelo (Llamas) Booc.

Roger earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering from Cebu Institute of Technology. Before immigrating to the U.S., Roger worked as a Safety Engineer in the Philippines. He married Racquel (Ramos) Booc in Cebu City, Philippines on April 4, 1972. After immigrating to the U.S. with Racquel in 1972, Roger worked as a Plant Engineer at various foundries, including Hayes Albion, Kelsey Hayes, Radford Foundry, Ironton Foundry, and Fort Wayne Foundry.

Roger was a steady, reliable, gentle, and welcoming man with a kind heart and warm, peaceful smile. He was always tinkering with something, building something, or working on some “little” project to improve something. He loved to watch his kids play sports, golf, fish, do yard work with Racquel, listen to his favorite music, and spend time with his grandkids. Roger was also a very faithful follower of Christ and prayed the Rosary often.

Roger is lovingly remembered by his wife of 50 years, Racquel, two daughters, Rochelle (Shawn) Henry of Birminham, MI, and Rubi (Jon) Peterson of Atlanta, GA, six grandchildren, Leah and Sam Henry, Elijah, Jonah, Izzy, and Eden Peterson, and his sister, Julita L. Booc of Tiffin.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Lourdes L. Booc.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, May 18, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating.  A Rosary will be prayed at the church at 9:30 AM.  Burial will immediately follow the Mass at St. Joseph Catholic cemetery.  The Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin is assisting the family with their arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church.
