<p>A Graveside Service for Dorothy Bowman, age 85, will be held Monday, May 16, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Goldenrod Cemetery in Tekoa, Washington.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Pastor Hal Whitman will officiate at the service.&nbsp; Mrs. Bowman passed away May 10, at her home in Tekoa.</p> <p>Dorothy was born August 12, 1936 at Medicine Lodge, Kansas to Jesse and Thelma (Fussel) Wortman.&nbsp; She attended school at Medicine Lodge and graduated from high school in 1953.&nbsp; Dorothy married Jack Bowman on April 9, 1954 at Alba, Oklahoma and the couple made their home in Medicine Lodge. &nbsp;&nbsp;The couple was married for 68 years.</p> <p>The couple moved to rural Tekoa in 1965 where Jack taught school in Tekoa and Dorothy was a homemaker.&nbsp; The couple moved into Tekoa in 1996 where they have lived for the past 26 years.</p> <p>Dorothy enjoyed raising livestock on the family farm in Tekoa.&nbsp; She was active in the local campfire girls, enjoyed oil painting, sewing and quilting.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; She was an avid reader and loved to work crossword puzzles.&nbsp; Dorothy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.&nbsp;</p> <p>Survivors include her husband Jack at the Tekoa home, two daughters, Chris ( Mrs. Michael ) McCallum of Fuquay &ndash; Varina, North Carolina and Cathy Bowman of Tekoa, Washington, two grandchildren, Brenna and Derek McCallum; and two brothers, Richard and Jack Wortman of Medicine Lodge, Kansas.</p> <p>She was preceded in death by a sibling Lola Wortman.</p> <p>Memorial gifts may be given to the Tekoa Ambulance Fund, Box 597, Tekoa, 99033 or to Kindred Hospice, 1610 NE Eastgate Blvd, Suite 850, Pullman, 99163.</p> <p>Kramer Funeral Home of Tekoa is caring for the family.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
