Jesse E. Cozad, Jr.

Jesse E. Cozad, Jr., age 81, of Council Bluffs, passed away May 12, 2022 at Risen Son Nursing Home. Jesse was born February 14, 1941 in Council Bluffs to the late Jesse E. and Margaret (Utterback) Cozad, Sr. He graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1959 and proudly served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1960 – 1964. Jesse married Patricia Tornblom on August 21, 1982 in Council Bluffs. They were blessed with two children, Pamela and Jesse III. Jesse was an inspector for Pottawattamie County for 35 years retiring in 2003. He was a member of Excelsior Masonic Lodge #259 AF & AM. In addition to his parents, Jesse was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Larry Rhoades. Jesse is survived by his wife of 39 years. Patty Cozad of Council Bluffs; daughter, Pamela (Jerry) Cozad Frye of Akron, Iowa; son, Jesse (Chris Curtis) Cozad III of Council Bluffs; grandchildren, Raymond, Brody, Joshua and Sam Frye; great grandchildren, Rebekah and James Frye; sister, Jean Cozad of Council Bluffs; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Excelsior Masonic Service, Tuesday, 6:00 p.m. followed by visitation with the family until 8:00 p.m. at Cutler-O’Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Funeral service, Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery with military rites tendered by the Kanesville Honor Guard. A lunch will follow at the Masonic Temple. Memorials are suggested to the Shriner’s.
