<p>Mr. Ray Clark, age 81 of Berry, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Fayette Long Term Care.</p> <p>Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 2-P.M. from Berry Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Berry City Cemetery. Visitation for Mr. Clark will be Friday evening from 5-7 P.M. at Nelson Funeral Home.</p> <p>He was preceded in death by his parents: Walter and Bertha Clark, brothers: Denver Clark, Harold Clark, William &quot;Bill&quot; Clark, and sisters: Ruby Nell Pendley, and Agnes Ary.</p> <p>Survivors include his wife of 56 and a half years: Barbara Logan Clark of Berry, one son: Stephen Clark (Amy) of Berry, two daughters: Vicki Lawrence (Jay) of Fayette, Karen Moore (Todd) of Berry, one brother: Roy J. Clark of Berry, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.</p> <p>Mr. Clark was a member of Berry Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and was a former Sunday school teacher. He was the 1989 Alabama logger of the year, chairman of Log a load for kids. He was a founding member of Alabama Logger&#39;s Council, former Fayette County commissioner and member of Fayette Hospital Board. The highlight of his life was being a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who affectionately called him Ray Ray.&nbsp;</p> <p>Honorary pallbearers are Deacons of Berry Baptist Church, former employees of Ray L. Clark Logging and Clark Brothers Trucking, employees of Pine Ridge Logging,&nbsp; BHS Class of 1959, Phillip Lee, Gene Carter, and the nurses and staff of Fayette Long Term Care.</p> <p>Active pallbearers will be: Clark Lawrence, Hunter Moore, Chris Roby, Blake Lawler, Bradley Tedford, and Jeff Clark.</p>
