Patricia K. Miller

Patricia K. “Pat” Miller, 82, passed away May 9, 2022 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11am, Saturday, May 21, 2022 at All Saints Catholic Church. Her family will receive friends from 10-11am, Saturday, prior to the service. Cremation rites have been accorded and private burial will be at a later date. <br><br>Pat was born on August 2, 1939 in Woodbine, Iowa to parents, William and Frances VanArsdol. She graduated from Denison High School and moved to Des Moines in the late 1950’s. She worked for 22 years at Mercy Medical Center in food service. She retired in 2000. <br><br>Pat enjoyed bowling, with many years in a bowling league, working in her yard, and following her favorite teams: Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Cubs and Bears. She loved her family and friends and always enjoyed spending time with them. Her favorite holiday to celebrate was St. Patrick’s Day. Part of her morning routine was praying the Rosary and reading scripture. <br><br>Pat is survived by her children, Deana (Larry) Boatwright, Teresa (Jim) Viggers and John (Terri) Miller, Jr.; grandchildren, Mark (Amber) Boatwright, Jacob (Maggie) Viggers, Jessica (Ben) Powers and Amanda (Jarred) Mumm; great grandchildren, Hunter, Warren, Dane and Brant; two sisters, Donna (George) Klabunde and Gerri Mason, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Bill VanArsdol and Rita (Leo) Newman; brother-in-law, Tod Mason; her ex-husband, John Miller, Sr and her closest friends. <br><br>Memorial contributions may be made to the Donor’s Choice in memory of Pat.
