Richard J. Vidler, Jr., 55, a resident of the Buxton community, died Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at his residence. RICHARD JOHN VIDLER, JR. was born August 13, 1966, in Hillsboro, Oregon, the son of Richard J. and Nancy (Ritchie) Vidler, Sr. He was raised and received his education in the Banks community, having been a graduate of the Banks High School Class of 1984. He joined the United States Army on October 15, 1986. John served for four years, until receiving his honorable discharge on July 13, 1990, at the rank of SPC E4 Aircraft Electrician. He also served in Desert Storm shortly after his discharge, from January 31, 1991, until June 19, 1991. John was united in marriage to Ramona Lyon on August 27, 1994, in Buxton, Oregon. Following their marriage, they resided in the Cornelius community, where they raised their 2 sons. They later divorced. On December 21, 2006, he was united in marriage to Tracey Vobora. Following their marriage, they resided in the Gaston community. They later divorced. He was currently working as a locksmith for Washington County in Hillsboro. John had worked for the county for over twenty-five years. Among his special interests, John enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, (Sand Lake sand railing, quadding, and camping in his younger years,) woodworking, working on cars, building things, gold mining; he planned to mine for gold after retirement, spending time with his parents, children and friends. He built his dream home and resided there until his passing. He was preceded in death by his sister, Stephanie Vidler, and grandmother Theola Reber. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Richard W. Vidler, and Savannah Bennett, of Cornelius, Oregon; his son Robert Lyon and fiancé Lauren Weslow of Cornelius, Oregon and parents Richard and Nancy Vidler, of Buxton, Oregon. Also surviving is his niece Erika Early, Aunt Debra Whitted, Uncles Tim Ritchie and Donald Ritchie, Aunt Carla Heath and Grandfather Earl Reber.
