Janet Hurlbut

Janet Marie Hurlbut, 79, of Muscatine, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at her home in Muscatine.  Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the Snyder and Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Service.  Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at the funeral home.  Burial will be in the Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery.  Following the funeral service, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Snyder and Hollenbaugh Community Room.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association or the Muscatine Humane Society in memory of Janet. Janet Marie Jobe was born on September 16, 1942, in Muscatine, Iowa the daughter of Cecil Claude and Vera Myrtle (Rhoads) Jobe.  She was a 1960 graduate of Muscatine High School and then graduated from Bussels Beauty Academy in 1961.  Janet was united in marriage to Michael Merle Hurlbut in Muscatine.  She worked for Naberhood Beauty Salon in Muscatine.  Janet was a member of Calvary Church and the Moose of Muscatine and volunteered at Cash for Critters.  She enjoyed camping, gardening, dancing and her dogs, but most of all, Janet dearly loved to spend time with her family.

Janet will be missed by her son, Mike Hurlbut (Angel) of Muscatine and Mark Hurlbut of Rockford, Illinois; granddaughter, Tysa Kay Hurlbut (Ethan) of Muscatine and two great grandchildren, Donna Kay Graham and Cole Patrick Greene.  

Janet was preceded in death by her parents, husband and special aunt, Alma Witt.
