James C. Vacendak Obituary
James C. Vacendak, age 62, of Highland, Indiana passed away Friday, May 6th, 2022. He is survived by his loving wife, Annette; mother: Gretchen Vacendak; three daughters: Michele Ibrahim (Waleed,) Jennifer Vacendak, and Elizabeth Vacendak (Patrick Courson;) two stepchildren: Nichole Plummer (David) and Matthew Hedgren; and seven grandchildren. Jim owned the Electric Company in Hammond for more than ten years. He cared deeply for his employees, and he took great pride in the success of his family business which was previously founded by his father, James P. Vacendak. Jim spent much of his free time operating Caterpillar heavy equipment, which was his greatest passion throughout his lifetime. Otherwise, he could be found spending quality time with his wife. Jim was extremely generous to those he cared most for, and he was always there for those in need of a helping hand.
At his request, there will be no memorial service. Donations in Jim's honor may be made to the Calumet area Humane Society in Munster, the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana, or a charity of your choice.
