Eric Hugh Hayes

Eric Hugh Hayes, age 45, of Metamora, MI formerly of Clawson, passed away on May 10, 2022, surrounded by the love of his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Jennifer Hayes; cherished children Olivia and Tommy Hayes; parents William and Barbara Hayes; brothers Kevin (Alethea) Hayes and Kyle Hayes; nieces and nephews, Cheyenne Hayes and River Hayes, Lily and Claire Wright, Mason and Myles McKenzie; brother in law, Chuck (Paulette) Wright; sisters in law Jessica (Michael) Allison and Ashley (Tony) McKenzie; mother in law Sharon Wright. Eric was born January 20, 1977 in Royal Oak, MI to William and Barbara Hayes. He was a graduate of Clawson High School class of 1995. After high school Eric attended college at University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Eric met the love of his life, Jennifer in 2005 and they were married on June 28, 2008. Later they would have daughter Olivia Ann on July 13, 2009 and Thomas Hugh on May 14, 2012. Eric was employed as an IT technician at Royal Oak Library and later at Orion Township Library. He loved being outdoors, and spending time with family, especially at the large family reunions. Eric was athletic and he excelled and was passionate about soccer, playing for the Royal Oak Rebels, Livonia Wolves, and Clawson High School where he was First Team All State. Eric passed his athletic ability on to his kids and he loved watching them play sports and was so very proud of them. Eric will always be their number one fan. Friends may visit the family for a memorial visitation Friday, June 3rd from 1:00-8:00 p.m. at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Capstick Chapel, 542 Liberty Park, Lapeer. A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 529 Hendrie Blvd, Royal Oak, MI 48067 on Saturday, June 4th at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial donations to the family for Eric’s children’s college fund are greatly appreciated. Checks may be made payable to Jennifer Hayes.
