Clara M. Blackman Obituary

Clara M. Cross Blackman, 77, of Fayetteville, Georgia, passed away May 11, 2022. She was born on May 26, 1944, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to the late Clyde and Frances Lavalette Cross. Clara worked at and retired from Creighton University Medical Center where she worked in the daycare center caring for the medical center employees. But her greatest love was her family. She will be dearly missed by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Richard DeWayne Blackman; her parents, Clyde and Frances; son, Phillip Blackman; daughter, Dorothy Struck; grandson, Todd Struck; and great-granddaughter, Kaylee Struck. She is survived by her daughters, Roxann Blackman and Debbie Frizzell (Michael); son, Richard D. Blackman, Jr. (Kim); grandchildren, Katrina Blackerby, Jeremy Frizzell, Nicholas Frizzell, Adam Struck, Chad Struck, Melissa Struck, Alisha Blackman, Brandon Blackman, Matt Chizek, Jason Blackman, Justin Blackman, Nicole Blackman, Phillip Stolz, and April Stolz; and her great-grandchildren, Ethan Beavers, Aubrey Beavers, Madeline Frizzell, Greyson Frizzell, Archer Chizek, Josh Struck, A.J. Struck, Jonathan Struck, Grant Struck, Trevor Struck, Axel Struck, Ryan Clark, Wyatt Ladwig, and Jaylyn Blackman. Funeral visitation will be in the Chapel of Maher Funeral Home, at 121 South 7th Street, Council Bluff, IA, 51501, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Monday, May 16, 2022. Burial will be at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Council Bluff, IA, at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 17, 2022. We welcome you to provide your condolences, thoughts, and memories on our Tribute Wall.
