Gary Lee Wright Sr.
<p>Gary Lee Wright Sr. was born March 11, 1939, in Des Moines, Iowa. He passed away May 11, 2022, at Pelican Landing in Detroit Lakes. He grew up and attended school in Des Moines and proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force.</p> <p>On March 17, 1962, Gary was united in marriage to Marie Nadeau in Presque Isle, Maine. To this union, 6 children were born. They made their home in Maine and Iowa before moving to Frazee. Gary farmed and worked for Daggett Trucking before returning to school at Detroit Lakes Vo-Tech.</p> <p>Gary owned and operated A&W Small Engine repair in Detroit Lakes, and later drove bus for Anderson Bus and Coach in Frazee. In his spare time, Gary enjoyed fishing, making quilts, and spending time with his family.</p> <p>Gary is survived by his children: Peggy (Bob) Jay, Holly (Brian) Geisenhof, Mike (Beth) Wright, Kathy Wright, Mary (Randy) Mayfield, Gary Wright Jr.; 13 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; sister, Donna Alexander; and several nieces and nephews.</p> <p>He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Wright; wife, Marie Wright in 2009; a son in infancy; brother, Darrell Wright.</p> <p><strong>Mass of Christian Burial:</strong> Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 10am held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frazee, MN with visitation one-hour prior and rosary recited at 8:30am.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Detroit Lakes Area Chapter Let's Go Fishing.
