Maria M. Melo, 93, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at her home. She was the wife of the late John Correia Melo. Born in Praia Da Vitoria, Terceira, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Manuel Vieira Homem and the late Maria Augusta Meneses. Mrs. Melo was a loving, kind and compassionate mother and grandmother who loved her family. She leaves five daughters, Margaret Malo, Ludovina Melo, Loretta Plante, Theresa Rogers and Philomena Shendler, three sons, John, Anthony and Everett Melo, one sister, Fatima Lima, six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Maria Trievel and Joseph Melo. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, May 13, 2022, at 10:00 AM in St. Francis Xavier Church, 81 N. Carpenter Street, East Providence. The burial will be private. Calling hours will be held Thursday, May 12, 2022, from 5-8.Obituary
