Robert Best, 92, of Waukee (Formerly of Booneville), passed away at his residence on May 6, 2022. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, McCalley Chapel in Adel with a prayer service taking place at 7:00 p.m. Graveside service with Military honors will take place at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 13, 2022 in the Booneville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Booneville American Legion. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.caldwellparrish.com. Robert Lee Best was born near Booneville, Iowa on June 15, 1929 to George and Martha (Schwartz) Best. He attended Van Meter Schools and graduated in 1947. On September 22, 1957 he married Doris Stout. Robert was a farmer for many years and was a Marine veteran of the Korean War. Robert is survived by his sister, Marguerite Lienemann; niece, Julie Lienemann; great nephews, Nathan (fiancé, Kasie) Lienemann and Joe Lienemann; great niece, Heidi Lienemann; and great great niece Jayda Lienemann. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Doris; son, Marvin Best; and brother, Donald Best.June 15, 1929 - May 6, 202206/15/192905/06/2022
