Michael Lee Forbush Proctorville, Ohio Obituary

Michael Lee Forbush

Michael “Mike” Lee Forbush, of Proctorville, OH, went to be with the Lord on May 6, 2022. He was born on April 26, 1950, in Guthrie Hospital in Huntington, WV, to the late Velva H. Gossett and Walter Earl Forbush Jr. He attended Chesapeake High School and graduated in 1969. He began work at ACF Industries as a crane operator post high school graduation until 1982. Shortly after, he began work at Richwood Industries, where he found not only work, but a family. He treasured the time he spent working with coal miners all across the United States and the lifelong friendships he made at Richwood. He remained with Richwood until his retirement. He served on the Lawrence County Fair Board for several years and was an active volunteer with Lawrence County 4-H for 40 years. He remained an advisor for the Ranch Hands 4-H Club through 2021. He was a member of Proctorville Masonic Lodge #550 F&AM. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Camping, fishing, horses, and traveling to Amish Country were his joys. His true passion, however, was farming Forbush Family Farm. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, daughter Michale Forbush Compton, and brother-in-law Jerry Thompson. He is survived by his brother Kenneth Leon (Diana) Massie, sister Linda Sue Thompson, twin sons Jason (Kelly) Forbush and Justin (Heather) Forbush, stepson Scott Harris, two nieces, and a nephew. He is honored by his grandchildren Devon, Dawson, Emma, Kenson, Allyssa, Kristopher, and Emilee. He is also loved by Margaret and a host of other family and friends. Visitation will be held at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, 625 Co. Rd. 775 Proctorville, OH, 45669, on Thursday, May 12, 2022, from 6 to 8 P.M. with Masonic Rites beginning at 7 P.M. Funeral Service will be held at 11 A.M. Friday, May 13, 2022, at the funeral home, with Justin Berry officiating. Burial will follow the service at Forbush Family Farm. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in honor of Mike Forbush, to the OSU Extension, Lawrence County 4-H Endowment. Condolences may be expressed to the family at ehallfuneralhome.com.
