Beverley Jane Stoochnoff Penticton, British Columbia Obituary

Beverley Jane Stoochnoff

Bev passed away at the age of 71 years, on Thursday May 5th with her children by her side. She is survived by daughters Christine “Christy” Lamarche (Chad), and Lesley Stoochnoff, grandchildren Sylvia, Gabby, Marco and Kenzi, three nieces and a nephew. Bev was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Lawrence, her parents Andries and Kathleen Faber, as well as her beloved sister Sandra “Sandi” Syer. Bev was born and raised in Penticton, attended UBC, and lived much of her life on the Sunshine Coast where she raised her family. She loved being a stay at home mother and homemaker before returning to the workforce as a dental office receptionist. She relocated to Princeton with Lawrence where she worked for many years, and finally retired in Penticton. She was an amazing cook, and always ensured her family and guests were well fed. She also enjoyed knitting, cross-stitch and sewing. Bev led an active outdoor life of walking, hiking, and snowshoeing and spent many happy summers camping and exploring around BC and across Canada. In retirement her winters were often spent as a snowbird RVing in Arizona, California and Mexico with her network of friends. Family was always her number one priority and she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and cousin who was there through good times and bad without hesitation. The family wishes to thank the dedicated and compassionate staff of Moog & Friends Hospice for their attentive care of Bev over the last months. A most heartfelt thanks is extended to Dr. Richard Tatham for going above and beyond. In memorium donations may be made to the Penticton Hospital Foundation, Moog & Friends Hospice or the Canadian Cancer Society. A drop in, open house, Celebration of Life will be held at the Brentview Estates Clubhouse, 170 Stocks Crescent, Penticton on Friday, May 13 from 1 ~ 4 p.m. Lawrence will also be remembered as his celebration was postponed.
