Betty Jean Kreimeyer was born December 23, 1945, to parents Otto and Grace (Huisenga) Kreimeyer in Ackley, Iowa. She attended school in the Ackley/Geneva area and graduated in the class of 1963. On June 6, 1964, Betty was united in marriage to the love of her life, Lynn Meyer. Together, they began a family of their own raising three children: Lisa, Shelley, and Kristin. Betty loved taking care of children and ran an in-home daycare center for 38 years. Crafting was also a major joy for Betty. She loved to sew, paint, and finish wood craft projects. Crafting turned into a family activity with family members making various woodworking projects together and then traveling to craft shows to sell their work. When she wasn’t in the craft room, Betty loved summer trips north to their lake home in Lake City, Minnesota, where they traveled for 35 years. In her free time, Betty loved to go camping, boating, fishing, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Additionally, Betty enjoyed playing games on her computer and tablet, cooking, baking, making candies, and going for walks and bike rides. Overall, she had many wide-ranging interests. Those left to remember and cherish her memory are her husband of 58 years Lynn Meyer; her children, Lisa (Don) Rowley, Shelley (Ken) Gratopp, and Kristin Johnson; her grandchildren, Kellianne (JJ) Torres, Joshua (Heather) Weuve, Addie (Brock) Pieters, Baylee (Colby) Bierman, Chase (Sydney Schmidt) Gratopp; her seven great-grandchildren, Paighton, Gage, Gloriana, Graylynn, Preston, Tate, and Tucker; her beloved pets, Buddy and Lacey; along with numerous extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Grace Kreimeyer, and her siblings, Marlys Kuehne and Lester Kreimeyer.
