Laurette enjoyed volunteering with the McKellar Hospital and later the TBRHSC and earned her 30 year service award on May 29, 2014. She was also interested in bowling and joined a local league for many years. Laurette loved the royal family, specifically Diana, and collected many figurines and royal family memorabilia. She was passionate, and loved all the royal events. She kept everyone up to date on the happenings. Her other life long interest was figure skating. She skated herself and spent her life at the rink watching the next 3 generations grow up skating.
