Carolyn Lee Renner, 87, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Grandview Heights under the care of the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown. Combined memorial services for Carolyn and her husband Jon, will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will start at 10:00 a.m. right until the service time. Memorials may be directed to Iowa River Hospice Home. Carolyn Quinby was born on June 23, 1934 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to William and Pauline Quinby (Hay). Carolyn attended Coe College and that is where she would meet Jon. She was united in marriage to Jon Renner on September 3, 1955 in Cedar Rapids. Carolyn had worked for Century Engineering, MCC, Lennox and Hoglan Elementary School from 1963 until 1995. She enjoyed traveling, reading and collecting Beanie Babies. Carolyn also enjoyed taking walks, tanning, Christmas shopping and traveling to Minnesota every summer with her family and going to Siesta Key, Florida during January and February. Those left to remember and cherish her memory are her children: Biff (Cindy) Renner, Jeff (Janice) Renner, and Brock (Lori) Renner; her grandchildren: Nick (Morgan) Renner, Emily (Twan) Phommachack, Megan (Adam) Rieck, Alex (Meghan) Renner, Julia Renner, Madison Renner, Logan Renner and Nate Renner; her nine great-grandchildren and her brother: Bill Quinby. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jon and her parents, Bill and Pauline Quinby.
