Gaynelle McGee Obituary

Gaynelle McGee, 76, died in Hollis, Oklahoma at Colonial Manor II on April 27, 2022 of Alzheimer's. She was born to Blair and Madeline McGee on February 17, 1946, in Hollis, Oklahoma.

Gaynelle attended Hollis Public Schools, graduating in 1964. She attended Southwestern State College and graduated with a degree in education. She taught in Nardin, Oklahoma and in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Gaynelle had one son, Kevin Wayne Short. She is survived by two sisters, Judy Russell of Edmond, Oklahoma and Jana McGee of Altus, Oklahoma, and an extended family of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Gaynelle is preceded in death by her beloved son, Kevin, parents, Blair and Madeline McGee, her brother, Jimmy McGee, a sister-in-law, Linda McGee, a nephew, Greg Russell, and a devoted friend, Julie Boatwright.

Gaynelle loved her family and friends, and she loved fishing. She was funny and fun-loving, extremely caring, a Christian who grew up in the Methodist Church.

She will be greatly missed, and we are most grateful for the time we were blessed to share with her.
