Alan Wesley Hulbert Obituary

Alan Wesley Hulbert, 81, of Binghamton and formerly of Afton left this earth to be with God on April 27, 2022. He was predeceased by his parents Mary and Wes Hulbert; his sister Linda Martin and son-in-law, James Heinle. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Sharon Eldred Hulbert; his children Mark (Amanda) Hulbert of Afton, NY,  Myra (Dan) Brigito of Simpsonville, SC, and Mary (Jason) Hoy of Liverpool, NY; 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Al was a member and Elder of the Afton Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Afton Fire Department. He was a NYS Trooper, retiring after 20 years of service. He volunteered for Meals on Wheels and was always generous with his time in doing for others. Al was a devoted family man and a good neighbor. He was a well loved man who enjoyed the simple things in life; walking the beach, driving his classic cars, and spending time with his family. He will also be remembered for his sense of humor.


The family will hold private services. He will be buried in Glenwood Cemetery in Afton. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Binghamton General Hospital 6th floor memorial. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the the First Presbyterian Church of Johnson City, 2 Main St. Johnson City, NY 13790 for their community outreach hunger program.
