Charles J. Clingham, Jr., 97, of Warwick passed away peacefully on April 27, 2022 at Hope Health Hulitar Hospice Center. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Charles J. and Gladys (Degnan) Clingham. He was the beloved husband of the late Marguerite (McDonald) Clingham for fifty-eight years. He is survived by his three children: Karen Clancy-Torres and her husband Arthur of Coventry, Susan Lemire and her husband Roland of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Charles J. Clingham, III. He was the grandfather of Erin Clancy, Raleigh, NC and Ian Clancy, East Greenwich, RI.

Charles was an honorable man who loved his family. He was a World War II Army veteran. His interests were reading, world history, listening to music, Rhode trips around our beautiful state, and an occasional cold Sam Adams with cheese & crackers. He loved family get-togethers, the Red Sox, Patriots and his beloved dogs that went on ahead of him. His sense of humor and slant on the absurdity of life kept us laughing close to the end.

Charles attended Bryant University. He was employed as a branch manager by Industrial National Bank for 40 years.

Calling hours will be Monday, May 2, 2022, 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. at the Jones-Walton-Sheridan Funeral Home, 1895 Broad Street at Park Avenue, Cranston, RI 02905. Followed by a 10:30 a.m. burial with Military Honors at the Rhode Island Veteran’s Cemetery, Exeter, RI. In lieu of flowers donations to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
