Obituary
MARIBEL SANTANA Maribel Sanata, 59, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at HCA Florida Putnam Hospital following a brief illness. Born in the Bronx in New York City, Maribel had lived in Palatka for the past 20 years. She was a lifelong homemaker who enjoyed playing with her grandchildren, spending time with her loved ones, and flower gardening with a “green thumb.” She was a Christian who enjoyed the simple things of life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Santana; her mother, Clemencia Rivera; and by three siblings. Surviving are her father, Israel Perez; a son, Alexander Quinones; four daughters, Kathy (Derek) Keaton, Jessica (Luis) Torrain, Joanna (Jose) Garcia, and Joyce (Leonid) Aguliar; five brothers, Israel Perez, Jr., Julio Velez, Benny Velez, Luis Velez, and Alex Velez; a sister, Arlene Perez; 11 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2022 at Masters Funeral Home in Palatka with Pastor Ted Stackpole officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill East Cemetery in Palatka.
