MARIBEL SANTANA Maribel Sanata, 59, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at HCA Florida Putnam Hospital following a brief illness. Born in the Bronx in New York City, Maribel had lived in Palatka for the past 20 years. She was a lifelong homemaker who enjoyed playing with her grandchildren, spending time with her loved ones, and flower gardening with a “green thumb.” She was a Christian who enjoyed the simple things of life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Santana; her mother, Clemencia Rivera; and by three siblings. Surviving are her father, Israel Perez; a son, Alexander Quinones; four daughters, Kathy (Derek) Keaton, Jessica (Luis) Torrain, Joanna (Jose) Garcia, and Joyce (Leonid) Aguliar; five brothers, Israel Perez, Jr., Julio Velez, Benny Velez, Luis Velez, and Alex Velez; a sister, Arlene Perez; 11 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2022 at Masters Funeral Home in Palatka with Pastor Ted Stackpole officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill East Cemetery in Palatka. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning one hour before the service. The service will be livestreamed and may be accessed at: www.vimeo.com/mastersfuneralhome.
