Obituary

Frederic “Rick” Schwab arrived home eternally on April 27th, 2022 at 60 years of age to meet his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. He endured a brave and determined fight against glioblastoma brain cancer for 14 months.

God welcomed him sooner than we hoped. Rick knew how to enjoy life. He was always the first one on the dancefloor, and so we can rest assured he is enjoying his heavenly homecoming with tasty food, beautiful music, and conversations with his father, Fred Schwab.

Rick was born on February 22nd, 1962 to Fred and Doris Schwab in Saint Paul, Minnesota. He grew up in a loving family with five siblings; Rainie Mezzenga, Randie (Vicki) Schwab, Amie (John) Kaiser, Brenda (Russ) Fandel, and Paul (Karen) Schwab.

Rick went to Forest Lake High School, where he played football and became the State Wrestling Champion in 1981.

In 1987, Rick married the love of his life, Judy Czeck. The best memory Judy has of their first date was Rick’s fun sense of humor. His personality was welcomed by the late Norbert and Joanne Czeck and in-law siblings; Doug (Maria) Czeck, Susan (Richard) Menk, Ann Czeck, Joe (Debbie) Czeck, Terri (Tony) Iliff, and Denise (Jason) Houle.

They had five children; Joshua, Heather (Jacob), Ryan, Alec (Grace), and Alyssa. He was an admirable family man, and would do anything to protect, support, and be there for loved ones.

Rick enjoyed many activities throughout his life, such as racquetball, paintball, and waterskiing. He spent time with his sons on the golf course, at car shows, and going to sport events, and was always available to attempt the daddy-daughter dance routines with his daughters. He took pride in his yard and had remarkable work ethic.

Rick had a special place in his heart for children. He especially, shared great love with his grandchildren; Wesley, Eva, Annika, Wynne, Huxley, and Violet. He cherished going to the park, swimming, and snuggling them close. Rick was a silly Papa who loved joking around with the kids to make them smile and laugh any way he could.

Rick found a passion and a drive in being a salesman. He was determined to help and assist every single one of his customers, not just to “sell a car”, but enjoyed getting to know someone. For 34 years, Rick worked in North Branch and Cambridge, MN where he gifted “more smiles per mile”.

He was well-known for his gentle smile, kind heart, and always willing to lend a hand.

Rick Schwab will be missed by many.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 6, 2022 at Access Church, 4359 392nd Street, North Branch, Minnesota.  Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday at the church.
