Eunice Maxine Chambers Obituary

Eunice Maxine Chambers of Anna passed away on June 6, 2019 at the age of 94 at the Union County Hospital Long Term Care facility in Anna. Eunice was born in Greensburg, Pennsylvania on June 16, 1924 the daughter of Phillip Eugene and Fladella Ethel (Stewart) Hower. She moved to Chicago, Illinois after high school where she met and married Louis Paul Chambers on August 21, 1944. Eunice was an active member in the school PTO, a Sunday School teacher, a Girl Scout leader, a Cub Scout leader, and various church organizations. She was also voted Woman of the Year while in the United Methodist Women's group. She was such an active member in the food pantry that she had a food pantry named for her. Her home was always open to whomever was hungry or needed a place to lay their head. She loved her family, crafting, cooking, baking, and gardening. She grew many fruitful gardens and canned everything. Tomatoes and coffee were her favorite foods. She retired in 1989 from AT&T-Western Electric and moved to Murray, Kentucky where she went back to school and became a LPN at the age of 66 in 1990. Eunice is survived by her daughter, Susan Jo (Al) Kamp of Anna; son John Phillip Chambers of Marseilles; son-in-law Duane Krug; grandchildren, Kristina Marie Krug, Robert Louis (Charity Bird) Krug, David Ronald Krug, Daniel Elias (Danine Rios) Kamp, Alfred Eugene (Fawna)Kamp III, Shannon Marie Ann (Rick) Payne, John Phillip (Linda) Chambers II, Louis Paul Chambers, Andrea Lynn (Jeremy) Benedict; 15 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; many nieces and nephews; friends and family including her adopted family she met in Murray, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis Paul Chambers; her eldest daughter, Pamela Louise Krug; infant daughter, Mardell Claire Chambers; five sisters; and one brothers. Memorial services are on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the United Methodist Church in Anna with Pastor Richard Sullins officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to mom's favorite charity (your local food pantry). Envelopes will be available at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home and at the United Methodist Church in Anna.
