Joseph Daniel McNeil, 41, of Middletown passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2022. He was born on September 26, 1980 in Anderson, IN a son of Thomas and Dianna (Clevenger) McNeil of Middletown.

Joe was a 1999 graduate of Shenandoah High School where he was an all-state wrestler.  He then went on to receive his bachelor’s degree in business from Indiana Wesleyan University. Joe was employed as an engineer with Borg Warner for a period of fifteen years. Joe enjoyed powerlifting and was something he took serious for about fifteen years.  He also enjoyed snow skiing and hunting both elk and deer with his dad. Joe loved spending time outdoors with his boys fishing and playing paintball.

In addition to his parents, Joe is survived by his wife, Kelly McNeil of Greenfield; children, Tanner, Ryan and Avery; sister, Heather (Brian) Lewis of Middletown; maternal grandmother, Dorothy Clevenger of Chesterfield; paternal grandfather, Donald McNeil of Middletown; nieces, Madeline, Kaitlyn and Sydnee Lewis.

Joe was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Joseph Clevenger; paternal grandmother, Martha McNeil.

A memorial service in Joe’s honor will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at the Middletown Church of the Nazarene.  Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery in Middletown.  Visitation will be Tuesday, May 3 at the church from 4:00pm-8:00pm.  Memorial contributions may be given to Joe’s Kids Trust Fund c/o First Merchant Bank.  Envelopes will be available at the church.
