A memorial service celebrating the life of Richard Earl Colby, 75, of Fort Worth, Texas will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Conerstone Church, 1404 N. Anglin St, Cleburne, TX 76033. The Rev. Weldon Coble will officiate.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2022 at Rosser Funeral Home, 1664 W. Henderson Street, Cleburne, TX 76033.
Richard went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 21, 2022. He was born in California and grew up near Santa Paul.
Richard served his country in the United States Air Force.
He continued his life of service in law enforcement, retiring as a Lt. from the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Department in 2008 after 25 years of service.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Kathryn Colby; mother and father-in-law, George and Louise Cumins; brothers-in-law, Ivan “Booty” Casey, David Cumins, and Joe Nelson; and grandson, Clinton D. Collins.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Colby; daughters, Cheryl Colby and Caitlyn Colby; step-sons, Les Dahn and wife, Crystal, Christopher Dahn, and Jeremy Collins and wife, Shannon; grandchildren, Kristin Dahn, Kayla (Collins) Gilbert, Emily (Collins) Jackle, Layla Collins, Billy Collins; brother, Donald Colby; sister, Karen Casey; brother-in-law, Rick Cumins and wife, Nena; sisters-in-law, Sharon Cumins, Helon Nelson, and Carolyn Rathburn; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other family members and friends.
