Joey Michael Benfield, 61, of York, SC passed away on Monday, April 18, 2022 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Liberty Church with Pastor Matt Burrell officiating. The burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery and the family will receive friends after the graveside service.

Joey was born on July 9, 1960, in York, SC. He was the son of the late James Edward Benfield and Mozelle Shirley Shipton Benfield.  Joey was a member of First Wesleyan Church in York, SC.

Joey is survived by his daughter, Stacey B. Edwards, sisters: Sandra Childers, Sheila Zirkle (Donald) Shirley Polk, and brother, Tommy Benfield. Joey is also survived by his grandchildren, Amelia Edwards, Aliyah Edwards, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
