Scott Alan Van De Kreeke Obituary

Scott Alan Van De Kreeke (57) of Kiel passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 20, 2022, at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.  Scott was born August 18, 1964, to the late Leroy & Darlene (Schneider) Van De Kreeke. 

Scott was baptized on September 6, 1964, into the Christian faith at St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sheboygan.  He attended St Paul’s Lutheran School and was confirmed on June 3, 1979. He graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1983.

He worked at various places during his lifetime, last two companies were Windwalker in Kiel and Sohn Manufacturing in Elkhart Lake. 

His special love was sailing on the Great Lake ships as a Merchant Seaman.  He sailed on Burns Harbor, J. L. Mauthe, Arthur M Anderson, and Philip R Clarke.  Scott loved to visit Sault Ste. Marie, MI & Duluth MN to watch the ships.  He also enjoyed taking spontaneous trips to other places.

Scott is survived by his daughter Hannah (special friend Ethan), sisters, JoNell (John) Toerpe, Robin (David) Markworth, and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Following Scott’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life is planned for Thursday, April 28, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Ballhorn Chapels Funeral & Cremation Care Center, 1201 N. 8th St. Sheboygan, with Pastor Rob Schrader officiating.  Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Thursday, April 28, 2022, from 12:00 Noon until the time of service.  If you are unable to join the family, the service will be livestreamed on Scott’s obituary page on the funeral home website.

Memorial donations can be made in Scott’s name to Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.

He will be sadly missed by family and friends.
