William Farris Jones

<p>William Farris Jones son of the late Andrew and Nannie Fugate Jones was born on Monday, July 15, 1935, at Lost Creek, KY and departed this life on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at the age of 86 years. He worked for Werner Transportation in Chicago, IL for 10 years, later retiring from construction work in 2000. Mr. Jones was an excellent wood worker and loved construction work. He enjoyed working in the yard and keeping everything looking nice and was a member of Pleasant Point Baptist Church.</p> <p>He is survived by his wife of 67 years; Juanita &ldquo;Padgett&rdquo; Jones whom he married on Thursday, June 3, 1954, one son; Douglas Jones (Jodi) of Mt. Washington, KY, a granddaughter; Sierra Jones Cherry (Graham) of Lexington, KY, one step-granddaughter; Kendra Spencer (Alan) of Mt. Washington, KY, two great-grandchildren; Scout Cherry and Monroe Cherry, one step-great grandchild, Riley Spencer, two brothers; Robert Ray Jones (Deva) and Ernest Jones (Ona) both of Waynesburg, KY, and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother; Earl Jones, and two sisters; Rose Childers and Sylvania Spencer.</p> <p>A one day service has been scheduled for Sunday, April 24, 20222 at Barnett, Demrow, &amp; Friend Funeral Home in Waynesburg, KY. Visitation will be from 12-2pm with funeral service beginning at 2pm. Bro. Kerry Jones will officiate the service and burial will follow at Double Springs Cemetery.</p> <p>Barnett, Demrow, &amp; FRIEND funeral home is in entrusted with Mr. Jones&rsquo; arrangements.
