Anthony "Tony" Argenta

Anthony “Tony” John Argenta, age 74, of Centerville, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at his home.

Tony was born on August 8, 1947 in Seymour, Iowa, the son of Telio John Argenta and Isabella (Dezorzi) Argenta.  He graduated from Seymour High School.  Tony was united in marriage to Wendy Mae Stickler on September 3, 1971.  To this union, one son was born, Kevin.

Tony began working for Kirk Gross Construction in 1975.  He was a supervisor there until 2011.  Tony also owned and operated his own construction business for a period of time.  Most recently, he was a driver for the Amish.

Tony enjoyed going to auctions and flea markets.  His grandchildren were number 1 in his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

Left to honor Tony’s memory are his loving wife of 50 years, Wendy Argenta of Centerville; his son, Kevin (Dustie) Argenta of Moravia; two grandchildren, Brooklyn Argenta (Ben) of Centerville and Haley (Cody) Underwood of Albia; a great grandson, Zander; his brother, Joe (Sandy) Argenta of Centerville; three sisters, Margie (Steve) Hanson of Kansas, Janine Ward of Kansas, and Francine Johnson of Ottumwa; as well as several extended family members.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Telio and Isabella Argenta; and three siblings, Joan Argenta, Mary Ann Argenta, and August Argenta.

Funeral services will be held at 2PM, Sunday, April 24, 2022 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with Pastor Jim Schweizer officiating.  Cremation will follow the service.  Visitation will take place Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville, with the family greeting friends from 5-7PM.
