Douglas "Doug" Luther Sletto Obituary

Douglas “Doug” Luther Sletto was born on February 11, 1944 in Alexandria, MN to Melvin and Edith (Botner) Sletto. He attended and graduated from Evansville High School in 1963 and continued his education at the vocational school in Staples, MN. Following his agricultural schooling, Doug started farming with his Dad and brother, Myron, for several years. He had a variety of occupations throughout his life including insurance salesman, owner of a water conditioning business, and co-owner of the Coast to Coast Store in Pine City, MN. On September 21, 1974, Doug was united in marriage to Judy (Zarbok) Anderson. Their greatest blessing was the adoption of their daughter, Alycen, on May 19, 1982. The family moved to the Brandon area in 1984 where Doug continued to live throughout his life. In his later years, Doug found his love for truck driving, which he did with Dennis Westrom until his health brought him to Brandon Assisted Living.

Doug enjoyed deer and duck hunting over the years with his family and friends near Henning, MN. Doug was a proud member of the Moe Township Coffee Group. He also enjoyed gardening, planting trees, auctions, and garage sales. Doug was known for his infectious laugh and he will be greatly missed.
