<p>&nbsp; &nbsp;<span style="font-size:16px;">Rhonda Rains Johnson, 62 of the Browning Acres Community of Harlan passed away Sunday evening of April 17, 2022 at the UK Bluegrass Hospice Center in Lexington, KY following a courageous battle with cancer.<br /> &nbsp; &nbsp;Rhonda was born March 16, 1960 in Jellico, TN to Mary Evelyn Hubbard Rains and the Late Ronald M. Rains. She was a graduate of Harlan High School. She was retired from&nbsp;the Harlan Co Board of Education with over 30 years of teaching Special Education at Hall School and JACES. She was a member of the Harlan Baptist Church and&nbsp;loved animals especially her 2 babies, &quot;Spike&quot; and &quot;Spanky&quot;<br /> &nbsp; &nbsp; Besides her father, she is preceded in death by her grandparents, Gus and Dorothy Rains, Eulis and Martha Hubbard.<br /> &nbsp; &nbsp; She is survived by her beloved mother, Mary Evelyn Rains; her son, Matthew Johnson; brother, Gary (Rose) Rains; she leaves a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other family and many friends to mourn her passing.&nbsp;<br /> &nbsp; &nbsp; Visitation will be 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Thursday (April 21) at the Anderson-Laws &amp; Jones Funeral Home.<br /> &nbsp; &nbsp; Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm in the Chapel of the Anderson-Laws &amp; Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Josh Haywood and Rev. Jon Dickenson officiating.&nbsp;<br /> &nbsp; &nbsp; Burial will be private at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Pleasant View (Whitley Co.) KY<br /> &nbsp; &nbsp; In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials to the Harlan Baptist Church (Building Restoration Fund) PO Box 883, Harlan, KY 40831 in memory of Rhonda.<br /> &nbsp; <strong><em>&nbsp; Anderson-Laws &amp; Jones Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Rhonda Rains Johnson.</em></strong></span></p>

   Rhonda Rains Johnson, 62 of the Browning Acres Community of Harlan passed away Sunday evening of April 17, 2022 at the UK Bluegrass Hospice Center in Lexington, KY following a courageous battle with cancer.
   Rhonda was born March 16, 1960 in Jellico, TN to Mary Evelyn Hubbard Rains and the Late Ronald M. Rains. She was a graduate of Harlan High School.
