Mr. Lawrence J. Cohen Obituary

Mr. Lawrence J. Cohen, 74 years old of Savannah, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, surrounded by his family at home.

He was educated in the New York public school system. He received Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Baptist House of Prayer in New York City when he was eleven years old. Mr. Cohen enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing card with his family and friends. He was an active member of his Masonic Lodge while living in Schenectady achieving the level of Master Mason.

After retiring from General Electric, he first moved to Pineland, South Carolina in 2010 and then Savannah, Georgia in 2016. He was a faithful member of Good Hope Baptist Church in Pineland, South Carolina.

Mr. Cohen was an outgoing kind of person, whenever he was around, there was always someone laughing or crying from laughing, he had a very kindred spirit.

 

He leaves his family to cherish his memories; His wife; Carlotta Cohen, his sons; Michael Holt, Lawrence Jeffrey (Minnie-Tanner) Cohen, Jr., his daughters; Elesha (Raphael) Tyson, Channon (Scott) Denson, Nicole (Garry) Thompson and Michelle (Robert-Miltner) Williams, Nine Grandchildren, Four brothers; William Cohen, James Cohen, Leroy Cohen, and Bruce Cohen, Two sisters; Rebecca Nelson and Elvira Richardson-Gary. A host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

 

IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, THE FAMILY IS ASKING THAT A DONATION BE MADE IN HONOR OF LAWRENCE J. COHEN TO GOOD HOPE BAPTIST CHURCH, 3263 COHEN ROAD, PINELAND, SOUTH CAROLINA 29934

 

A MEMORIAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD ON SATURDAY, APRIL 23, 2022, AT GOOD HOPE BAPTIST CHURCH 3263 COHEN ROAD, PINELAND, SOUTH CAROLINA AT 11:00 AM

 

PLEASE REMEMBER TO WEAR A MASK, YOU PROTECT OTHERS AS WELL AS YOURSELF. MASK WORKS BEST WHEN EVERYONE WEARS ONE. A MASK IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR SOCIAL DISTANCING. MASKS SHOULD BE WORN IN ADDITION TO STAYING AT LEAST 6 FEET APART, ESPECIALLY WHEN INDOORS AROUND PEOPLE WHO DO NOT LIVE IN YOUR HOUSEHOLD.
