Marjorie Housh

Marjorie Lavena Housh, 93, of Seymour, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at Mercy One Long Term Care in Centerville Iowa, where she was so wonderfully cared for. Marjorie was born to Albert and Opal (Bennett) Smith on April 29, 1928 in Leon, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Harold “Tom” Housh on December 28, 1945 and to this union came seven children. Marjorie was a homemaker for many years. She had many hobbies that included sewing, gardening, planting flowers and working on the farm with her and Tom’s cattle. Marjorie enjoyed baking pies and making noodles for her family. Marjorie was very family oriented and loved time spent with her siblings; they were her best friends. Left to cherish Marjorie’s memory are her children: Dennis Housh (Cheryl), Dale Housh (Jill), Sue Smith (Bob), grandchildren: Thomas Housh (Robin), Lesia Pomeroy (Eddie), Michael Conway, Dena Selvy (Kevin), Clint Housh (Kerri), Caleb Housh (Hilary), Courtney Power (Drew), Mellisa Housh (Bri Miller), Ryan Housh (Cynthia), Nathan Smith (Kate), Laura Henderson (Wade) and Emily Kurimski (Tony), 24 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren, daughter-in-law, Cindy Housh and siblings: Robert Smith (Sheryl), Jackie Selby and Don Smith (Judy). Marjorie is preceded in death by her husband: Tom Housh, children: Danny Housh, Sharon Ewing, David Housh and Doug Housh, siblings: Leland Smith, Virginia Smith, Clara Bain, Betty Grimes, Phyllis Jean Williams, Jody Smith, Wanda Johnson and Anna Waits. Services for Marjorie will be held on Saturday, April 16th, 2022 at 2:00PM at Thomas Funeral Home in Seymour, Iowa. Visitation will take place an hour prior from 1:00PM-2:00PM. Interment will be held at High Point Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Mercy – One Long Term Care or Seymour Baseball/Softball Association and condolences may be shared at www.thomasfh.com or facebook.com/thomasfuneralhome.
