Diane L. Burnett, 75, a resident of Crofton for 28 years and previously of Waldorf, MD, died May 22nd of natural causes following a long illness. Mrs. Burnett was born June 21, 1941, in Niagara Falls, NY. She was most recently employed as a bookkeeper by R & D Cross Farm and Garden Center and prior to that by Southern States, both in Upper Marlboro, MD. Diane grew up in the Buffalo, NY, area and graduated from Bennett High School in 1961. Diane loved the beach, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. With a tender and giving heart, she devoted her life to those she loved. Diane was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Alan G. Burnett. She is survived by their two daughters, Diane E. Burnett of Crofton, MD, and Michelle B. Albanese of Round Hill, VA; three sisters, LaVada Wright Luce of Snyder, NY, Carol Aitchison of Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, and Margaret Gushue of Grand Island, NY; one brother James Wright of Rochester, NY; and three grandchildren, Lauren, Kenny and Christopher.
