<p>Billie Marie Ferguson (Cumpton) died Friday, April 8th in Lubbock, TX at the age of 82.</p> <p>Billie&nbsp;was born on October 25, 1939&nbsp;at home on the Jeffery Ranch in Young County just outside Graham, TX&nbsp;to&nbsp;Joseph Herman Cumpton and Bertha Evelan Dodson. Billie was the youngest of five sisters and they all loved each other and stayed very close throughout their lives. She&nbsp;graduated from&nbsp;Graham High School&nbsp;in&nbsp;1958.&nbsp;She met her husband Leldon Allen (Don) Ferguson&nbsp;at the Flint Creek Mission Church where they both attended at a young age in Graham, TX. This is where they both learned of Jesus and his purpose for their lives. They were later married on June 22, 1958 in Loving, TX. Soon after they moved to Stamford, TX where all 4 of their children were born. They later moved to Miles, TX and again to Spur, TX where they resided for many years until their retirement. They made their way to Buffalo Wallow Ranch in McCaulley, TX where they spent the rest of their years running a cattle operation and spoiling grandchildren.</p> <p>Billie&nbsp;is survived by&nbsp;her two sons Gail Don Ferguson (Claudette) of Spur, TX, Barry Ferguson (Anji) of Spur, TX and her two sisters Pauline Hunter of Mannsville, Oklahoma and Joyce Cearley of Jeanerette, Louisiana. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.</p> <p>She&nbsp;is preceded in death by&nbsp;her parents Joseph Herman Cumpton and Bertha Evelan Dodson, her husband Leldon Allen (Don) Ferguson, her sisters Jo Hannah and Helen James, her daughter Brenda Michulka Bryant and her son Charles Maurice (Marty) Ferguson.</p> <p>Billie&nbsp;was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed spending her time outdoors where she loved gardening, fishing, camping, and bird watching. Her children remember her tireless work of being a full time mom, all the delicious meals she made, and the compassion she always showed them throughout their lives. In later years she spent many hours sitting at her kitchen table looking out the large window that overlooked their family lake observing many bird species and all the wildlife that visited her home. She is also remembered for the many adventures she took her grandchildren on and the numerous crafts and projects she helped them with.</p> <p>A viewing/visitation is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon, April 12th&nbsp;at&nbsp;Adams-Foster-Ray Funeral Home in Hamlin, TX.</p> <p>A graveside service is scheduled for&nbsp;Wednesday, April 13th at 11:00 am at the McCaulley Cemetery. Immediately following the service a reception will be held at the Methodist Church in McCaulley, TX.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

Billie Marie Ferguson (Cumpton) died Friday, April 8th in Lubbock, TX at the age of 82.

Billie was born on October 25, 1939 at home on the Jeffery Ranch in Young County just outside Graham, TX to Joseph Herman Cumpton and Bertha Evelan Dodson. Billie was the youngest of five sisters and they all loved each other and stayed very close throughout their lives. She graduated from Graham High School in 1958. She met her husband Leldon Allen (Don) Ferguson at the Flint Creek Mission Church where they both attended at a young age in Graham, TX.
