Adams announces the passing of Mr. Raul De Almeida, 86, who transitioned on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Entombment services will be held 10:00 AM, Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at Hillcrest Abbey West Mausoleum. 

Viewing: 4 PM - 6 PM, Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at the funeral home. 

 

Raul De Almeida was born on April 15, 1935 in Lisboa, Portugal to Henrique and Maria Julieta De Almeida.  Raul was predeceased in death by his parents, his two brothers Tonecas De Almeida and Domingos De Almeida, and his three sisters Florencia Allen, Gracinda De Almeida and Fernanda De Almeida.

Raul married his loving wife Lucilia Goncalves on November 28, 1959. 

Their marriage produced three children – John Pedro De Almeida Sr, Joao Paolo De Almeida and Ana Paula Murphy.

In 1974, Raul and his family immigrated to the United States from Portugal and resided in Maryland for a few years.  Ultimately the family moved to Milford Massachusetts where Raul lived until retiring.  Raul worked hard in supporting his community and due to his love for the United States he was very proud to become a United States Citizen on March 25, 1981.

Raul was a god-fearing man, an amazing husband and father as well as grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend.  Raul was always willing and ready to lend a hand and ear to anyone and provide advice based on his extensive and unique life experiences. 

Raul leaves to mourn his devoted son John DeAlmeida Sr and his wife Agatha; his caring daughter Ana Murphy and her husband Brian; his grandson Jay DeAlmeida and his partner Lynn Johnson; his grandson Michael James Vater Jr of Phenix City Alabama; his grandson Tristan Irvine Minnis and his partner Marlene Logan; grand-daughter Chari and her husband Waddell Thompson;  his great-grandchildren Malaya DeAlmeida, Aeric-Angel DeAlmeida, Kaeo Wright, Jaelah DeAlmeida, Amir DeAlmeida and Michael James Vater III; great-grandchildren Latavia Irvine, Ta’Lisa Irvine, Justin Thompson, Kassidy Thompson and Angel Jones; sister-in-law Lourdes Almeida of Maryland; six nephews Luis Almeida, António Zé Albuquerque, José Gonçalves Albuquerque, Alexandre Albuquerque, Adelino Coelho, Antonio Coelho and Vasco Albuquerque; and eight nieces Elena Albuquerque, Ilda Fernandes, Maria Cardoso, Angelina Albuquerque, Lucilia Dos Prazeres Coelho Sousa, Maria Emilia Coelho De Ferraz, Maria Angelina Coelho and Maria Jaime and many friends.
