Dorothy Clements White

Dorothy C. Clements White, also known as Dot, of Amherst Virginia entered Heaven’s rest on April 9, 2022 with her family by her side. She was born on September 15, 1927 in Tye River of Nelson County Virginia to her parents, Clinton and Ella Clements. She was of one four siblings. Dorothy enjoyed family and friends. Her favorite things to do were cooking and feeding the family. She had a specialty of making awesome dinners. Dorothy was a secretary for Nelson and Amherst County School systems. She was also secretary to Physical Education Department of Lynchburg College. (University of Lynchburg) Dorothy loved traveling, especially to Amish country in Pennsylvania and also taking time at the beach. Dorothy is preceded in death by her loving husband, Linwood E. White Sr. She is also preceded in death by her daughter, Anita Carol White Ferguson, her sister, Helen Clements Fletcher and two brothers, James Vernon Clements and Lawrence Clements. Dorothy is survived by her son, Linwood (Lindy) E. White Jr. (Margaret Ann), and one son-in-law, Billy Ferguson, four grandchildren, Kristin Cox (Matt), Carey Banton (George), Mitch White (Heather), and Clint Ferguson (Kelley). And eight great-grandchildren, Cameron, Caleb, Riley, Avery, Maddie, Abby, Chase, and Colton. A graveside service will be held on April 12, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Amherst Cemetery of Amherst Virginia with Allan Monfil and Nancy Johnson officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society. Driskill Funeral Chapel is assisting the family.
