William "Kip" Moore Obituary

William Kipling Moore aka "Kip" passed onto eternal life on Saturday, April 2, 2022. He was born to William Moore and Geraldine Bryant Moore; both preceded him in death on May 28, 1963.  Kip graduated from Middletown High School in 1981. He continued his studies at the University of Cincinnati where he earned a bachelor's degree in Communications. After graduation, he moved to Pasadena, CA where he was employed by Universal Studios. Seventeen years later, Kip returned to Middletown. He shared his love for singing and theatre arts with the community. 

His last employer was the Salvation Army Ray and Joan Knoc Community Center in Dayton, OH. 

Kip accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized as a member of New Era Baptist Church. Upon his return to Middletown, he joined United Missionary Baptist Church; however he later reunited with New Era Baptist Church. 

Kip was elected to City Council in 2004, then Vice Mayor. He later resigned and returned to his love of singing and the arts. Kip "LOVED" people and whole heartedly blessed everyone who in came into contact with. 

Kip performed locally in "Hood" and the "Odd Couple" with the Rising Phoenix Theater and "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" at Miami University Oxford, "La Boheme" with the Sorg Opera Company. He also exhibited his talents at Middletown Lyric Theatre, Beavercreek Community Theatre and most notably, the Dayton Playhouse where he served on the Dayton Board of Directors. He performed in such shows as Universal Studios, "The Blues Brother Show", "Jesus Christ Superstar" and "Working" He also lent his talents to churches and contiguous counties. Kip wrote and directed such shows as "Coming Home", You Go Joe", The Front Porch", "Bible Talk", "Dialogues", "Woodside", Mary Did You Know", "Our Journey from Africa" and "The Reason Why I Sing". William "Kip "Moore will be tremendously missed not only by family but his beloved community as well. 

Kip leaves to cherish his memories: his sister, Andrea Moore Gresham of Forest Park, OH; his aunt, Marie Hunter of Middletown, OH; a devoted and loving cousin, Melani Harris of Middletown, OH along with a host family and friends. 


Kip's smile will reside eternally in all of our hearts.
