Ruby Fern Winkler

Ruby Fern (Cruthis) Winkler, 97, of Hillsboro, IL, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2022 at 1:30 a.m. at her residence. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 14, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Hillsboro, IL. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, April 14, at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Hillsboro, IL. Burial will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro, IL.

Ms. Winkler was born on November 13, 1924 in Sorento, IL to the late Uley George Cruthis and Elsie (Lake) Cruthis. She was a Hillsboro High School graduate and attended Business College in St. Louis, MO. She married Orville E. Winkler on August 19, 1945 in Sorento, IL; and he preceded her in death on June 1, 2012. Ms. Winkler was a member of First Baptist Church in Hillsboro, IL; she enjoyed gardening, crotchet, and canning. Ms. Winkler had lived in the Hillsboro area her entire life.

Ms. Winkler is survived by her children Danny (wife, Sandra) Winkler of Discovery Bay, CA; Dennis (wife, Barb) Winkler of Hillsboro, IL; Jeanne Winkler (companion, John Dal Pozzo) of Hillsboro, IL; her grandchildren, Brent (wife, Laura) Winkler of South Hill, WA and Jason (wife, Dana) Winkler of Hasting, MN; and her great-grandchildren, Autumn Rose Winkler, Colin James Winker, Jackson Daniel Winkler, and Blake Madison Winkler. She was preceded in death by her parents, Uley George Cruthis and Elsie (Lake) Cruthis; husband, Orville E. Winkler; daughter, Cheryl Winkler, and siblings, Sherilyn (Sheri) Dolash, Virginia Cruthis, Victor Cruthis, and Thelma Nadine Draper.
