Robert J. Lyman, 81, of Crystal Lake died Thursday evening, March 31st at Geisinger CMC in Scranton, following an illness.  He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Helen Costello Lyman.


Born in Gelatt, son of the late Betty H. Pickering Morris, he was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Carbondale.  Throughout his life, he was employed at Hendricks Manufacturing, Hanson Road Construction and Kaminski Road Construction.


Robert, known by his friends and family as Bob, lived a full and happy life. He enjoyed working in the backyard, picking berries, and going fishing. He spent his time bowling at Idle Hour Lanes and watching NASCAR, Penn State Football, and the Dallas Cowboys. Some of his favorite memories with his friends include playing cards on Friday nights and grabbing coffee at “McyDee’s”. Bob especially loved the time he shared with his wife and family.


Also surviving are a daughter: Robin Iyoob and son-in-law, David Iyoob; two grandchildren: Katelyn and Cory; an aunt: Joan Potter; nieces and nephews: Kim Bowman, Brian Telford, and Bonnie Williamson-Pappacena; and several cousins.


The funeral will be held on Thursday, April 7th, with services at 5 pm by Pastor Wayne Wolfe in the First Presbyterian Church of Carbondale, 76 Salem Avenue, Carbondale.  Private interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill.  Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 2 pm until service time.  Arrangements by the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale.


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the donor’s favorite charity or to the First Presbyterian Church of Carbondale, 76 Salem Avenue, Carbondale PA, 18407.
