George W. Lillibridge Obituary

Lincoln - George W. Lillibridge, 86, of Albion Road, died Thursday, March 31, 2022 at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence.  He was the beloved husband of Shirley A. (McDuff) Lillibridge.  Mr. & Mrs. Lillibridge had been married for sixty-three years.

Born in Providence, a son of the late George and Hope (Quirk) Lillibridge, he had lived in Lincoln for many years.

Mr. Lillibridge was a graduate of Central High School, Providence.  He went on to work as a roofer for the Roofers Union, Local #33, before retiring.

George was an avid baseball fan, playing on numerous baseball and softball teams, traveling to several baseball tournaments around the country, and enjoying watching the New York Yankees.  He was a fan of horse racing, often attending races at Saratoga Racetrack.  An advocate for healthy living, he was always exercising and watching his diet.  He was a communicant of St. Ambrose Church, and was a man of deep faith.  His family was most important to him, and he always took care of them.  He was the rock of the Lillibridge family.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, George R. Lillibridge of Lincoln, and Todd M. Lillibridge of LIncoln; one sister, Virginia Reposa of Providence; one brother, Reynolds LIllibridge of Smithfield; and one granddaughter, Ashlyn Lillibridge of Austin, Texas.  He was the father of the late Scott J. Lillibridge; and the brother of the late Richard Lillibridge, Joseph Lillibridge, Charles Lillibridge, Warren Lillibridge, Hope Mello, Linda Tench, Sarah Ormond, Phyllis Repoza and Brenda Arnold.

His funeral will be held Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. from Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Ambrose Church, 191 School Street, Albion.  Burial will follow in Saint Ambrose Cemetery, Albion.  Relatives and friends are invited, and may call Monday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.  For directions and guest book, please visit www.bellowsfuneralchapel.com.
