Lawrence J. Crook

Lawrence J. Crook, of New Windsor, entered into rest on Wednesday, March 30, 2022. He was 85. Son of the late Harry and Mildred (Creeper) Crook, he was born on May 20, 1936 in Newburgh, NY. “The Mayor” as he was known by family and friends, was a retired machine operator with I.B.M., Poughkeepsie, NY. After retiring he went on to work for West Point Tours and the New Windsor Highway Department. Described as having a heart of gold, he was an avid Giants and Mets fan. Survivors include two daughters, Kathleen (Joseph) O’Brien of New Windsor and Mary Beth (John) Olsen; three grandchildren, Patrick O’Brien, Erin O’Brien and Mark Olsen; his roommate and special friend who looked out for him, Gary and his beloved dog, Tucker. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Mary (Reilly) Crook. Visitation will be 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Sunday April 3, 2022 at White, Venuto and Morrill Funeral and Cremation Service, 188 N. Plank Road, 12550. A Funeral Service will be 11:00 am, Monday April 4, 2022 at the Funeral Home with Deacon Peter Haight officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor.
