Lewis M. "Bub" Wolfe Obituary

Lewis M. “Bub” Wolfe, 83, of Sherrett, passed away early Wednesday morning, March 30, 2022 in the comfort of his home while surrounded by his loving family.

Lewis was born in Adrian on December 16, 1938.  He was the son of the late John M. and Mildred Toy Wolfe.

He attended school in Adrian and was employed by Penreco in Karns City for more than 30 years, retiring in 1999.  Bub enjoyed working his sawmill, farming, and operating heavy equipment.  He looked forward to attending car shows with his friends.

Lewis is survived by his wife of nearly 67 years, Mary I. Fennell Wolfe, whom he married in Clarion on December 29, 1955.  Also surviving are four children, Dave Wolfe and his wife, Cindy, of Harrisville, Donna Hillwig and her husband, Jimmy, of East Brady, Cindy Northime of Cowansville, and Ella Baker and her husband, Paul, of Chicora; his sisters, Karen Cousins of Adrian and Darlene Martz of Kittanning; a brother, Bruce Wolfe of Adrian; eleven grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, one great great grandson, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Bub is also survived by his pride and joy, his dog, Sparky.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Stella Bowser and a son-in-law, Nick Northime.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Rd., Chicora, from 4 – 8 p.m. Friday.  A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Floyd Barnhart, a United Methodist pastor, officiating.  Interment will be in Sherrett Cemetery, Armstrong Co.  Condolences may be sent by visiting www.hilefh.com.
