<p>Maria del Refugio (Cuca) Renteria (77) passed away suddenly on March 28, 2022 in Watsonville, CA.</p> <p>Cuca was born in San Isidro, Zacatecas, Mexico to Zacarias Chavez and Maria Mu&ntilde;oz on August 23, 1944. Married the love of her life, Santiago Renteria on August 11, 1959, in Santa Rosa, Zacatecas, Mexico. She worked in the fields picking strawberries and other fruits, owned a strawberry farm and retail business for over 40 years. She loved her husband, children, grandchildren, siblings, nephews/nieces, church and her wonderful friends.</p> <p>Cuca is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Lidia Ortega and her brother Guadalupe Chavez.</p> <p>Cuca is survived by her loving husband Santiago Renteria. Siblings; Socorro, Jesus, Joel, Guillermina. Children; Linda (Robert), Santiago (Olivia), Martha, and Cris (Julia). Grandchildren; Nicolas (Eva), Taliza, Matias, Santiago, Carlos, Diego and Abril.</p> <p>Closed casket visitation on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at 5 pm with Rosary at 7 pm at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel in Watsonville.</p> <p>Funeral mass services will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at 1 pm. at St. Patrick&rsquo;s Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park. In honoring Cuca&rsquo;s wishes, there is no reception afterwards.</p>

Maria del Refugio (Cuca) Renteria (77) passed away suddenly on March 28, 2022 in Watsonville, CA.

Cuca was born in San Isidro, Zacatecas, Mexico to Zacarias Chavez and Maria Muñoz on August 23, 1944. Married the love of her life, Santiago Renteria on August 11, 1959, in Santa Rosa, Zacatecas, Mexico. She worked in the fields picking strawberries and other fruits, owned a strawberry farm and retail business for over 40 years. She loved her husband, children, grandchildren, siblings, nephews/nieces, church and her wonderful friends.

Cuca is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Lidia Ortega and her brother Guadalupe Chavez.
