Rose Aldridge Dumes

Rose Aldridge Dumes, 96, of Eldorado, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at the Eldorado Rehab and Health Care. Rose was born in Akron, OH on April 28, 1925 to the late Vivian D. and Gertrude (Schroeder) Aldridge. Rose was a graduate of Carmi Township High School. She worked in the Carmi School system for 20 years over the bus garage and cafeteria and she also worked for the USDA in Carmi. She volunteered at Lourde’s Mercy Health Hospital in Paducah, KY in the women’s auxillary gift shop. She married Solomon Dumes and he preceded her in death on February 7, 2007. She is survived by three sons, Michael (Linda) Dumes of Newnan, GA, Howard (Barbara Shivers) Dumes of Atlanta, GA and Randy (Melissa) Dumes of Paducah, KY, seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers, Francis Aldridge of Eldorado, John (Sue) Aldridge of Eldorado and Joseph (Kathy) Aldridge of Lexington, SC. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and cousins and great nieces and nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Denise Conrad, two brothers, William and Wilfred Aldridge and two sisters, Gertrude Dust and Mary Antell. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Union Ridge Cemetery. Father Christian Iwuagwu officiating. Burial will be in Union Ridge Cemetery. Those attending are asked to meet at the cemetery. Memorials in her memory may be made to the Lourdes Mercy Health Hospital Women’s Auxillary gift shop.
