RICHARD M LEFEBVRE

<p>Richard M. Lefebvre, age 84, devoted husband of 62 years to Mary E. (Reader) Lefebvre was called safely Home on March 20, 2022.&nbsp;</p> <p>Born in Willimansett Chicopee to Dora (Valliere) and Rene Lefebvre, Richard was predeceased by his sister, Claire McDevitt.</p> <p>He will be remembered as a loving husband and father.&nbsp; Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Debra (Rocklin, CA); son, Steven, and daughter-in-law, Linda (Feeding Hills, MA); three grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.</p> <p>Richard served our nation in the U.S. Navy at the Naval Station Newport, Rhode Island, and during the Lebanon Crisis as an aircraft mechanic aboard the carrier USS Wasp.&nbsp; He went on to work for the Westfield Fire Department for 32 years in a variety of roles - as a Firefighter, EMT, trainer, equipment, and vehicle contract negotiator, and finally as the Superintendent of Vehicle Repair.</p> <p>Richard was known to all as a hardworking and conscientious man who was quick to offer a smile and a helping hand.&nbsp; He will be greatly and widely missed.</p> <p>While only at the Holyoke Soldiers&rsquo; Home for a short time, the family is extremely grateful for the exceptional and compassionate care that Richard received.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, memory donations may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 1552 Westfield St, West Springfield, MA 01089 or to Soldiers&rsquo; Home in Holyoke, ATTN: Treasures Office, 110 Cherry St, Holyoke, MA 01040</p> <p>All services are private and have been entrusted to Avalon Life Celebration Center &amp; Cremation Services, LLC 691 College Hwy, Southwick, MA 01077&nbsp; To express condolences please visit Richard&rsquo;s memorial page at www.avaloncelebrations.com</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
