Edward Kochakian

<p><br /> Edward Kochakian was 88 years old when he passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Thursday, March 24th. Born and raised in Union City, Ed raised his family in Bergenfield before settling in Englewood. He was a graduate of Emerson High School in Union City where he was inducted into the Emerson Hall of Fame for his excellence in Football, Basketball, and Track and Field. After his graduation, and to this day, Ed has still maintained a great relationship with his high school friends. He would later go on to marry his first wife, Ruth Porzl-Kochakian and earn a Bachelors of Science in Accounting from Rutgers University. After a career in accounting that began with Western Electric and later AT&amp;T, Ed was able to retire at a young age. His early retirement provided him with an opportunity to really enjoy life. He loved to play poker with the guys, he was able to travel the world, and most importantly, spend time with his family. After a sad passing of his first wife, Ed later went on to remarry Georgia Faye Kennedy and continued to live a fulfilling life. He is survived by his loving sons Gary Kochakian, and his wife Joan, Edward Kochakian, and his wife Deirdre. Ed was predeceased by his daughter Linda and survived by her husband Ken. He is the cherished grandfather of Brett, Alyssa, Colin, Craig, Noelle, Edward, and Cara. Ed also has three great-grandchildren Callie, Kennedy, and Lorelei.&nbsp;</p> <p><br /> Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Boulevard Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1151 River Road, New Milford&nbsp;on Sunday March 27th from 4pm to 8pm. The following morning Monday, a prayer service will be held in the funeral home at 10am. Entombment will follow at Garden of Memories, Washington Township. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made in his memory to Memorial Sloan Kettering @ www.mskcc.org&nbsp;<br /> &nbsp;</p>
